How a Brick Oven Makes Your Food Taste Better

When the owners of Iachetti’s Kitchen considered opening in Glen Rock, one of the questions that they considered was “what kind of equipment do we want to use?” While many modern restaurants have state-of-the-art kitchen technology with custom digital devices, the owners at Iachetti’s are joining in the old-school revolution that has served for centuries and is seeing more attention these days—the brick oven! Powered by wood and a carefully enclosed space, this classic kitchen “appliance” has been producing delightful foods across the world since before the invention of electricity, and for good reason! Read on to find out how a brick oven makes your food taste better!

Hotter Temperature
Heat is key to cooking, and brick ovens are particularly great at holding this heat as they absorb the heat into the walls, ceiling, and floor, trapping it and raising the temperature while not wasting as much heat as many modern styles of appliances. Even better, this absorption ensures even cooking without the need for additional fans or convection. For foods like our featured flatbreads, a hot, quick cook is a must for a crispy crust, even heat, and perfectly prepared toppings.

Savory Delights
Due to the natural wood used as a fire source, foods cooked in a brick oven will be slightly smoky, with deep, complex flavors that a standard electric or gas stove could never accomplish! This doesn’t just add another layer to your favorite margarita flatbread, but gives roasted chicken, turkey, and more an extra boost of savory delight. Concerned about an increased risk of cancer-causing substances like are found in BBQ grills? Introducing Our Daily Specials And Fall Menu

If you’ve visited Iachetti’s Kitchen in Glen Rock lately, you’re probably familiar with our great foods and friendly atmosphere. Since we first opened, we sought to bring a friendly, all-occasions location to Glen Rock, and we think we’ve accomplished it! If you haven’t visited us yet, here’s a preview of some of our favorite specials and new menu… if you’re a regular, see if there’s anything you didn’t know you were missing!

Daily Specials
Every day of the week (including weekends!) Iachetti’s Kitchen offers a great deal on our special features. Start out your week with a sweet, savory boost of “Dr. Pepper” glazed baby back ribs, kale slaw, and BBQ sauce on Monday, or join us for a fully “Thanksgiving” turkey dinner and fixings every Tuesday! Wednesdays we serve up shrimp in a basket with fries, and Thursdays feature fresh roast prime rib, smashed potatoes, and au jus. Fish fry Friday is on at Iachetti’s with beer-battered code, chips, and tartar sauce. For the weekend, join us on Saturday for a Grilled NY State pork chop, yams, and onion bacon jam, or enjoy our Pasta Pomodoro with meatballs and sausage on Sundays! Every dish is so good, you’ll want to check out the next day’s special!

We released our new fall menu at the beginning of September, and we are excited to share our delightful offerings! We have plenty of starters, including our much-loved parmesan-crusted rice balls, crispy street tacos, eggplant balls, and Parmesan crusted cauliflower. Sneak some veggies into those appetizers! We have plenty of family favorites, with a sweet/savory honey ginger roasted chicken, grilled red panama shrimp, or prime sirloin steak. Our flatbreads fit any budget and combine delicious ingredients like gouda and fig, prosciutto and chorizo, and classics like margarita. For a healthy power lunch or dinner, try one of our salads, like our chopped kale and romaine Caesar salad, or our quinoa, feta, and cucumber salad. Finally, don’t forget to add a delicious side dishes, from classic onion rings, to savory parmesan fries, to healthy sautéed greens.
